CLUB ABLE 2B  ME

Club Able 2B Me is the social arm of the Special Needs Sports Foundation.  They have bingo every Thursday 6-8pm at Northfield Church, theme parties and dances, movie nights, and family picnics.

COMMUNITY OPTIONS, INC. OF NASHVILLE

 Community Options is a national nonprofit that provides community-based options for individuals with disabilities living in Hendersonville and other local areas.  Services include housing, employment, and the School to Employment Program for transitioning youth and young adults.

EMPOWER ME CENTER

Empower Me offers Day Camps (ages 5-21) which are weeklong during the summer and one day during the year, Respite Events for ages 5 and up, Recreational Programs, and Educational Programs. 

Their Adult Program for age 18+ is called Day Dreamers and currently meets Mondays through Thursdays, The Day Dreamers participate in weekly activities which assist with social and life skills.

ENVOI ASSOCIATES

Envoi offers Family Model Residential Services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their own homes.  They also provide ABA-based behavioral services for children, teens, and adults.

HABILITATION AND TRAINING SERVICES (H.A.T.S)

H.A.T.S. helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing opportunities for community integration, inclusion, making choices, and life skills.

  • ​Community-based services include outings and volunteer opportunities. 

  • Residential homes in Sumner and Robertson County.

  • Respite services.

  • Supported employment and vocational rehabilitation.

  • Family Support helps individuals with severe disabilities by providing funds for such things as respite care, home modifications, medical supplies, personal assistance, homemaker services, and health-related needs. Applications are available online.

Include Me Advocacy Group's mission is to ensure that all individuals have access to appropriate athletic, educational, and employment-related services.  Services include inclusion, pro-bono advocacy, independent living skills training, and community integration.

MILLAR RICH

Millar Rich provides residential, employment, and day services for adults.  Their supported employment program offers youth and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities pre-employment, job placement, and ongoing support services.

MY HAPPY PLACE CENTER

My Happy Place provides a safe and structured environment for adults with disabilities, including those with higher support needs.  They offer part-time, full-time, and drop-in options to assist caregivers with respite needs.  Hours are M-F 8am-4pm.

One Life LLC provides personal support (DSP), transitional housing, and respite care.  They also have an adult day center.  One life specializes in DIDD care.  .

PEER PLACE

PEER Place provides opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental differences such as learning basic reading, math, and computer skills, training for healthy lifestyle habits, job training, volunteer skills, and independent living skills. They are open Monday-Thursday 8am-3pm.  They are located at First Baptist Church Hendersonville.

PROJECT 22

Hosted by the Arc of Cumberland Valley, Project 22 is a social club meetup group for adults with disabilities to do arts and crafts, exercise, and service projects.  They meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 3-5 pm at Hendersonville First Baptist Church in the Family Ministry Center.  Call the Arc of Cumberland Valley to check first- (615) 585-3947.

THE PLACE OF PURPOSE COMMUNITY

The Place of Purpose has a goal of providing a safe and accessible living facility for any people with physical disabilities.  They currently have regular workshops where adults with disabilities create products, build friendships, and support one another.

YMCA FULL CIRCLE PROGRAM

​The YMCA Full Circle Program is just getting started at the Sumner County YMCA.  Spring 2025 classes include a dance class and a fitness class. These classes are for adults, including adults, with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  All activities are free for YMCA members. Adaptive swim lessons are now being offered to children and adults.  Email mbrown@ymcamidtn.org for more information.
