BAMBINO'S PLAYROOM

Bambino's is a play space specifically for children ages 0-5 and was designed by pediatric therapists.  They often have classes open to individuals with varying abilities, such as the Language and Sensory Play Hour.

CENTERSTAGE PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY

Centerstage offers a Creative Movement class for students with special needs.  Students will learn skills such as basic movement, rhythm skills, tap and yoga.  Classes are held on Wednesday evenings and are open for enrollment year round.  Contact is McKenna Driver.

CIRCLE M THERAPEUTIC FARMS

Circle M serves children and adults with physical, intellectual, and emotional disabilities through Animal-Assisted Therapy. Services provided including Equine therapy, fishing, gardening, and guided hikes.

CLUB ABLE 2B ME

Club Able 2B Me is the social arm of the Special Needs Sports Foundation.  They have bingo every Thursday 6-8pm at Northfield Church.  They host many other social events and recreational activities. In addition, they host events like fun-runs to raise funds to provide other events and for their long-term goal of providing a recreational center specifically for special needs individuals.

HEART & SOUL MUSIC THERAPY

Haley Hanford is a Board-Certified Music Therapist.  She provides individual and group music therapy as well as adapted music lessons in Nashville and Sumner County. She offers free consultations.

INCLUSIVE ROCK PAINTING AT GALLATIN PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Gallatin Public Library hosts an inclusive rock painting class on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 1pm.

INFINITY DANCE COLLECTIVE

The Infinity Dance Collective specializes in adapting dance to accommodate various abilities and strengths.  They have classes for children ages 4+ as well as adults of all ages.  Group classes and private lessons are available. They have recently expanded into Sumner County.

KIDS CLUB SUMMER CAMP

The City of Hendersonville Parks Department offers the Kids Club Summer Camp for children with disabilities.   

IChildren must bring snacks, drinks, and lunch daily.  Preregistration is in April and occurs in person at the parks office only.

LONG HOLLOW BAPTIST CHURCH

Long hollow offers several opportunities to individuals with special needs and their families.

Buddy program- a buddy can help a child with special needs in a typical class for the purpose of inclusion with peers.

Sensory services- individuals can be provided with headphones or sensory items when needed. Specialized Sensory Room classrooms are available for all ages of students during 9:30 am and 11:15 am services at the Hendersonville campus.  The ratios are smaller and the curriculum is modified.  Sensory-specific activities are offered.

Group for Moms with special needs children- this open group meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm.  It is in person in room 222 or online through zoom. More info here.

MARY'S MAGICAL PLACE

Mary's Magical Place is an all-inclusive playground built in memory of Mary Elizabeth McAuley.  
Some of the features include a roller slide, a wheelchair swing, and a seesaw.  It is located in Hendersonville off Vietnam Veterans Blvd Exit #7.

MIRACLE PARK

Miracle Park is located within Triple Creek Park in Gallatin and features nearly 6 acres of recreation specifically designed for those with mobility impairments, special needs, and the community as a whole. It has a special ball field where Miracle League games are held.  

Follow the Friends of Gallatin Miracle Park FB Page to find out about upcoming VIP events especially for individuals with disabilities and their families.  Past events include an Easter egg hunt and a VIP day at the pool.  â€‹

MONTHAVEN ARTS & CULTURAL CENTER

Monthaven's Healing Arts Program offers movement and music classes built on the principles of Autism Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, and the Melillo Method.  This course is led by Rae Balmuth MA, RDT, a seasoned movement instructor, arts-based life coach, and former ABA therapist. Classes offered are: Creative Movement for Special Needs (ages 7-12, 13-18), Creative Expression for Personal Growth (ages 12-17, 18-25), and Mixed Media for Kids with High Sensory Needs (ages 7+).  More information can be found on their website under the "Healing Arts Special Kids" link.

MUSICAL BRIDGES MUSIC THERAPY

Musical Bridges provides Neurologic Music Therapy to children and adults in the Greater Nashville area. They have music lessons as well as groups and camps. They have a clinic in Brentwood but also serve clients community-based in Hendersonville.

NIGHT TO SHINE

Night to Shine is an annual prom night experience for people with special needs ages 14 and up.  Northfield Church has hosted this event.  The date for 2024 is February 9th.  Honored guests can take advantage of complimentary tuxedo rentals or prom dresses and jewelry.

PROJECT 22

Hosted by the Arc of Cumberland Valley, Project 22 is a social club meetup group for individuals with disabilities to do arts and crafts, exercise, and service projects.  They meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 3-5 pm at Hendersonville First Baptist Church in the Family Ministry Center.  Call the Arc of Cumberland Valley to check first- (615) 585-3947.

SENSORY FRIENDLY MOVIES AT NCG

The NCG Cinema in Gallatin offers special sensory-friendly showings of certain movies during which the lights are up, the volume is down, and patrons are welcome to stand, talk or sing in a friendly environment.  All showtimes are at 10 am.  These events are held monthly.

SOUTHERN STARSS

Southern Starrs provides therapeutic and goal-oriented equine and animal assisted activities for special needs children and adults.  Classes are held throughout the week and special events like the Halloween Trailride are held throughout the year.

SPECIAL DAY FOR SPECIAL KIDS

Special Day for Special Kids is a quarterly event held at Cornerstone Church in Madison.  This event is open to children with special needs from birth to age 17.  Some buddies will be available, no registration is needed.

URBAN AIR OLD HICKORY SENSORY PLAY

Urban Air sets aside 9am-11am on the first Sunday of each month for Sensory Play- a quiet time for those with special needs and sensory processing difficulty.  No flashing lights, music, or whistles. Price is $8 for kids.

YMCA FULL CIRCLE PROGRAM

The classes of the Full Circle Program are for adults, with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Programs include exercise classes and Parents Night Out respite events.  All activities are free for YMCA members.
