Nashville Neuropsychology & Family Services provides neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and adolescents with cognitive and behavioral challenges related to learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia), ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. NURTURE THE NEXT
Nurture The Next has programs related to children from birth to age 5. They provide in-home support for parents as well as training and education. Sumner County Programs include: Parent Mentorship, Parent Leadership Initiative, and Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention. They have resources for parents and people who work with families.

TENNESSEE DISABILITY COALITION
The TN Disability Coalition is an advocacy group that promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Their programs include Family Voices and WorkAble TN.
Family Voices of TN
Family Voices offers 3 different programs:

TN VOICES
TN Voices offers a wide-range of mental health and family support services at no cost. They help parents and caregivers navigate complicated systems within the school, court, and mental health systems. They also provide care coordination and resource connection for the whole family. They also support educators and caregivers with trainings, consultation services, and technical assistance. Many families reach out to them for education advocacy. They also offer parenting and prevention classes. Their services can be accessed virtually or in-person, depending on the program.
Additionally, they offer individual and family counseling, case management services, psychiatric, and medication management services virtually statewide and in-person at our Goodlettsville office. They serve ages 3+. They take TennCare, some commercial insurances, and have a sliding scale fee depending on financial or situational hardship. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, they offer the Behavioral Safety Net Grant to access our services at no cost.

TRANSITION TN
Transition TN offers free training and resources for educators and Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS). They are Tennessee’s online home for training and resources to prepare students with disabilities for life after high school.

VANDERBILT TRIAD

PROYECTO DE DEFENSA DE LOS DERECHOS MEDIANTE VOLUNTARIOS (VAP)
El Proyecto de Defensa Voluntaria es un programa del Centro Vanderbilt Kennedy cuyo objetivo es capacitar a personas para que se conviertan en defensores de la educación especial. Los participantes asisten a 12 sesiones de 3 horas entre agosto y noviembre, y luego se les asignan 4 familias de niños con discapacidades. En los últimos años, las sesiones de capacitación se han realizado los martes por la noche a través de Zoom. Los participantes deben completar una solicitud y el costo es de $25, con la posibilidad de obtener becas según las necesidades económicas.
